To clear the air, I recently tested the bar. The test results are back. Here they are: Actual Label PROTEIN 24g 31g CARBS 34g 15g FAT 6.7g 7g The real disparity lies in the carbs. World Wide Nutrition claims that although glycerine has a caloric value of 4.32 calories per gram, it is not a carb. I’m told by the lab that anything that has a caloric value must be categorized as either a fat, a protein or a carb. You can’t just ignore it. By process of elimination, glycerine must be listed as a carb. But World Wide Nutrition chooses not to in their Pure Protein Bars. Disregarding the glycerine issue, I’m disappointed by the protein discrepancy: 7 grams is substantial (only 77% of the label claim). If you are looking for another bar similar to WorldWide Sports Nutrition Pure Protein Bar where the protein content is accurate, try the Eclipse MuscleTech Nitro-Tech Protein Bar. The Apple Pie flavor is delicious!
