Hello Racing Fans,

This past weekend was great. Michael came in 2nd place in the 4th heat, which qualified him for the Sprint Car Feature. Over 40 cars were trying to qualify for the Sprint Car Feature on May 7, 2005, but only 20 made it into the Feature. This was Mike’s first Sprint Car Feature. Michael came in 17th in the Feature winning $150.00. Our teammates Bryan Clauson came in 6th place and Kevin Besecker came in 14th.

Mike, Paul and I also won the 50/50 pot, which gave us tickets to the Indy 500 qualifying. Posted above (on page 1) is next weekend’s schedule. I hope to see some more fans of Mike’s at the races.

Thanks for you support.

Recent article on Mike Weber.....

The fourth heat was won by Jon Wolfe, the veteran driver who nearly won the race at Lawrenceburg Speedway, the weekend prior, before the 15 year old sensation, Bryan Clauson, got around him and took home the payday. The second place heat finisher was Mike Weber, a bona fide newbie to the sport. Weber, who is a practicing lawyer in the Cincinnati area, grew up going to sprint car races. Years later, Weber would test his hand at motorcycle racing, but for the most part, concentrated on a flourishing law career. Last year, with help from B&L Motorsports, Weber was able to make some laps in the Sprint Cars that seemed to have been calling his name for years. While his efforts were serious and his focus immeasurable, Mike Weber meant to do little more than "get the hang" of Sprint Car racing. I interviewed him last year, and he told me that his goal was to "simply make a feature event in 2005". Not only did Mike Weber do so on Saturday night, he finished in one of the coveted top 2 positions, allowing him to redraw for a top notch starting position in the feature. Anyone who knew Mike Weber's story knew that this heat race was a victory of the biggest kind. For many, it renewed the spirit of local racing, where anyone with the gumption and the heart, can indeed, make dreams come true. Following Weber, taking home the final transfer, was Lawrenceburg regular, Larry Beck.
