Being born missing my left hand didn't hold me back from doing gymnastics from the age of 3. Then I coached gymnastics in my late teens into my early 20's.After working as a police dispatcher for some time (keep in mind,I have only one hand),I developed carpal tunnel. I was faced with a dilemna,either I have a surgery that may possibly leave with with no working hands or I train hard to heal my body.

Well,given that I never take the easy way out of a situation,I chose to work hard and heal my body as best as I could. At the beginning of the year,I decided to make a goal for myself,to set an example for others to be the very best they can be given their restrictions (mine being limited use of my hands).I decided to enter a Fitness competion camp in April and I was bitten by the competion bug.I was first runner up in that show.The next show

I entered was in August at the 10th Legacy International Grand Finals which I won 1st place in the Novice division. I was absolutely thrilled to receivethe title! Then it was off to Vegas for the Ms Fitness 2007 finals. What a great past 6 months these have been!!

As for my training... After getting my chidren off to school,I arrive at the gym at 8:30,I like taking step,pilates,and weight training classes. After class,I will take the time for a good strech.I feel this is the best time as your muscles are already warmed up. After class,I will either jump on the tread mill or eliptical for 30 mins. Then it's off to the weight machines. I don't really have specific days that I do a muscle group. I just listen to my body,If I feel that I haven't hit up a muscle group in a while, I will on that one.As for food intake,I always start my day with a protein shake(7:00 am)...I use soy milk,strawberries,blueberries,blackberries,ground flax seed,wheat germ and Champion Nutrition Pure Whey Protein Stack.....yum,I love it. After I get back from the gym(11:00),I eat 2 egg whites scrambled with spinach and garlic in a little olive oil and a piece of Ezekial bread. Around 3:00 pm,I will eat some nuts and a protein shake,usually Champion Nutritions' Chocolate flavor(that seems to curb that need for something sweet!!). Around 6:30 I will have either chicken or fish and steamed veggies.

As far as supplements go, I take glutamine and liquid aminos. I also take a multi vitamin. I use Universal Nutrition Glutamine Powder,Amino Sculpt and Nature's Way Alive! Whole Food Energizer.
