Volume Training and Supplementation

When you search volume training you get different results. Though there are different types of volume they all have the same concept. The idea behind volume training is doing high reps causing full muscle tearing and pump and allowing full muscle recovery.

 

I’ll share with you what I do for volume training. For the sake of time I will share with you my chest day, using the same idea for chest day you can take and carry over to other body parts.

 

I like to first start out with hitting flat bench. The goal here is to really stretch out the pectoral muscle and give it more of the wide broad chest look.

 

Flat dumbbell bench:

1 x 15 – 20

1 x 10 – 12

3 x 8 – 10

 

The last three sets you want to push yourself. You want to hit a weight that when you hit 8 reps it is difficult and you are really pushing hard to get a total of 10 reps.

 

Incline Hammer Strength Machine:

4 x 15 – 20

 

With this specific exercise you want to do each arm separately. You want to sit at an angle and push across your body. When doing this you should feel it isolating the up chest and really try to concentrate the upper middle of the chest.

 

Decline Bench:

4 x 20

 

This is the second to last exercise, by this point your chest should be filled with blood and the pump should be really intense. After each set of decline you want to make sure that you are stretching out the pecs individually. Stretching helps with blood flow and increases the pump. Still push yourself with decline and you want 20 reps to be hard each time.

 

Dips:

3 x burn out

 

Make sure to have plenty of rest between each set, you want to go deep and flex when you get to the top.

 

With volume training you need to eat high calorie meals with plenty of protein for muscle growth. There are a few supplements that I would recommend for pre, intra, and post.
